(Music) Bio
Out of the Nutshell, A Tree Growed Tall...
Honolulu
My wife and I moved to O'ahu in 2013.
Slowly but surely a new, ultra-compact, digital recording "studio" is coming together.
(Space is "cheap" on the mainland — and outrageously dear here!)
I'm very grateful to Paul Allen and everyone at Sweetwater: Music Instruments & Pro Audio for their willingness to ship to Hawai'i! Not everyone's so obliging. Among other things, got a nice 88-key Korg Kronos 2 synthesizer workstation and fabulous Behringer Europort PA system delivered to my front door! (The PA is portable, the Kronos 2 is not — I don't have a weight-lifting roadie!)
Now that I'm good an settled in, it's time to get back to playing live again, on a regular basis!
Step 1: Refreshing my Set List and creating performance backing tracks (PBTracks) for many of the songs.
Step 2: CAT LIVE (MUSIC) web site.
Unable to bring my "old" digital studio with me to Hawai'i, "I Will Fly" was an experiment in using Apple's Garageband and a USB, podcasting mic. For "primitive" equipment, not too bad!
Here in Hawai'i I've switched to Logic Pro X, Apple's digital audio workstation (DAW).
I've been very happy with the quality of the no-vocals, no-guitar performance backing tracks (PBTrack) created with Logic Pro X.
