You never thought about being a musician — you know — like,  trying to "make it"?

Yes.

See (Music) Bio "In A Nutshell."

What venues do you play?

Pubs, breweries, beer gardens, coffee houses, hotels,  private functions.

Do I need to provide a PA system?

No. I bring my own PA.

All I need is a reliable source of electricity. And shelter from the rain!

If the electricity fails, I go full on acoustic!

Do you play Hawaiian music?

While I greatly enjoy Hawaiian music — especially slack key guitar — I don't play it.

When playing live, do you play the standard "tourist" fare?

This might be selfish, but life is short: I like to play good music folks may not have heard much, or even at all.

Songs by Kacey Musgraves, The National, Jason Isbell, John Fullbright, and Peter Hammill fall into this category.

The typical response?

"What was that song you just played?"

See current Set List.

You really just play for tips?

I really do.

I love to play live. I want to make it easy for you to invite me in, try me out, invite me back again!

Any and all tips benefit my second-grade classroom.

What's the best way to try you out?

Invite me in on a slow evening.

I play for tips, so no risk: there's nothing to lose!

Is Sweetwater: Music Instruments & Pro Audio paying you to advertise for them? How much?

No.

Nothing.

I'm just eternally grateful for their customer service — they replaced a failing, less-than-a-year-old 88-key Korg Kronos 2 and sent it to me here in Hawai'i — so I want to say thanks and tell anyone and everyone with music instruments and pro audio needs, check out Sweetwater.

Paul Allen's your man.

How do I contact you?

Email is probably best way to reach me: catsongs@mac.com

You can always try calling, but with robocalls on the rise, I find myself answering my phone less and less: 808 - two six four - 4076.
